Join us for our next Parent Faculty Club (PFC) Meeting of the school year on April 14. We'll be discussing important updates and upcoming events - your voice and participation are always valued!
We’ll be covering a few important items at the meeting, including a vote on proposed bylaw updates (You can view a summary of bylaw changes here:
Summary of Changes.docx or feel free to compare the
Current Approved Bylaws (Ammended March 2025 and Board Approved April 2025).docx with the
Current Approved Bylaws (April 2025) - Suggested Revisions (working versions with edits).docx for more information.) aimed at making them easier to read and manage while keeping our core structure intact. A summary of changes and full documents are available for review ahead of time.
We’ll also discuss open roles for board and committee positions for next year, and vote on the proposed operating budget.
Open roles include:
✨ Open Executive Board Positions - these positions require a vote. Voting will be done at the May 12th PFC meeting.
These leadership roles help guide and support everything the PFC does. Attending monthly Board meetings is a requirement in order to serve on the Board.
- Parliamentarian – Helps ensure we’re following bylaws, oversees the election process, and keeps our structure running smoothly
- Co-VP of Operations (x2) – We are looking for two people to fill this position together as Co-VPs to support the behind-the-scenes needs of the school, including room parents, staff appreciation, yearbook, and more.
- VP of Events – Oversees all school events (such as Fall Fest, dance, movie night, etc) and helps ensure everything runs smoothly. Note: this is a shared role and there is one board member in term.
- Co-Treasurer- Helps manage the PFC budget, tracks all expenses, handles deposits and payments and works with our CPA to file taxes.
🎉 Open Committee Chairs - these positions do not require a vote and involve a smaller time commitment than a Board Position:
Great for parents who want to get involved in a flexible, team-based way:
• Room Parent Coordinator – Lead our Team of amazing Room parents! You will help get them set up in the beginning of the year and then communicate throughout the year with room parents across all classrooms.
• Kindness Week Committee – Plans and brings to life this special week focused on inclusion and positivity
• Concerts in the Park – Help coordinate volunteers and donations during this fun community event & fundraiser (note: we share this opportunity with Diablo View Middle School)
• Ed Fund – Oversee the Education Fund plans for the year, one of our bigger fundraisers for the PFC.
• PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) – Represents the parent voice for MDE at district meetings and helps strengthen school-community connections. Attending a monthly meeting is a requirement for this role.
• 4th Grade Parent Committee – Organizes fundraising activities for our 4th grade families to cover or offset costs of 5th grade promotion activities.
Thank you for considering being part of the PFC! Please reach out with any questions.
📍 In-person attendance is encouraged! We’d love to see you there.
