Hi MDE Families!

Teacher Appreciation Week will be here before you know it. The following is the schedule for the week:

Sunday, 5/3 - Door Decorating will take place on campus from 10 AM - 2 PM. Want to show off your creativity? Check with your room parent to see how you can help decorate your teacher’s door or check out this sign up sheet to take the lead on one of our many staff doors.

Monday, 5/4 - Enjoy the beautifully decorated doors around campus!

Tuesday, 5/5 - Homemade cards and notes day! Have your student write a note, poem, card or draw a picture for your teacher and have them bring it to class.

Wednesday, 5/6 - Floral day! Students bring a flower to add to a group bouquet. This can be a flower from home!

Thursday, 5/7 - Treat your teacher day! Bring a small, store-bought item (think candy, favorite drink, etc.) to sweeten their day.

Friday, 5/8 - Class group gift day!

In addition, our Teacher Appreciation Week Committee has been hard at work planning a special week to celebrate our staff. The teachers’ lounge will be transformed into a beautiful garden-inspired space, “We Bloom Because of You,” where staff can relax and feel appreciated all week long. Each day features a thoughtful, themed experience - from a Fresh Start to Bloom breakfast, to Sweet as Can Bee dessert day, Garden Fresh Goodness with a catered salad lunch, and a fun Ice Cream Social, all leading up to a meaningful sendoff with a “Thanks for Helping Us Grow” gift to wrap up the week. 

A big thank you to our Door Decorating Coordinators, Valerie Rosario and Anna Ferraris, as well as our Teacher Appreciation Week Committee members, Paulina Hazzard and Jacquelyn Price, for their creativity, time, and dedication in making this week so meaningful.

As you participate, please remember our entire school community - support staff, our librarian, and elective teachers - who all play an important role in our students’ experience. We’d love to help ensure everyone feels appreciated and celebrated.
