Dear MDE Families,

Next year, we have more open Parent Faculty Club (PFC) positions than usual — and we need your help!

The PFC is behind many of the programs and events your kids love — from Fall Fest and Movie Nights to classroom supplies, staff appreciation, enrichment programs, and so much more. None of this is possible without volunteers like you.

You don’t need experience. You won’t be doing it alone. We’ll help you every step of the way.

While these roles aren’t huge time commitments, they are meaningful ones — and they make a real difference in our school community. Whether you’re super organized, creative, social, or just want to help behind the scenes, there’s a spot for you.

Let me be honest — we NEED volunteers for these roles. If you’re reading this, you’re probably the kind of parent we want to speak to. MDE is a standout school because of parents like you — but it only stays that way with your help.

Open Executive Board Positions

These are leadership roles that help keep everything running smoothly:

President – Helps lead meetings, sets agendas, and keeps everything on track.
Co-Treasurer – Manages budgets and expenses (don’t worry, we’ll train you).
VP of Education – Supports education-related programs like Kindness Week.
VP of Events- oversees all social events and social event standing committees
 VP of Fundraising – Helps organize and support our fundraisers (like Eagle-A-Thon, Dine & Donate, and more).
Communications Secretary – Shares info with families via Konstella, social media, and the website.
Recording Secretary – Takes notes at meetings and keeps records organized.

Open Committees

Great for parents who want to help but may not be ready for a board role:
4th Grade Parent Committee – Helps coordinate fun events and activities for 4th grade families.
Education Fund Committee – Supports fundraising and decision-making for education-related needs.
Movie Night Committee – Help plan and run our popular movie nights.
Concerts in the Grove - Help organize volunteers and collect donations during Clayton’s summer concert series — a fun way to support MDE while enjoying live music downtown!
Square One Art - Coordinate the student art fundraiser where kids create artwork that families can turn into keepsakes like mugs, t-shirts, and more.
Kindness Week – Help plan and support this special themed week that promotes compassion and community.
• Room Parent Coordinator – Liaison between the PFC and classroom parents; helps organize classroom volunteers and communications.
