Hello Seals and welcome to another fantastic year at North Beach!
Here’s a quick list of dates to remember and things to do before school starts on September 4th (1st - 5th grade; Kindergarteners start Sep 9th):
- Popsicles on the Playground: Join us on the North Beach playground, Tuesday, September 3rd from 4:00pm - 6:00pm for our annual school year kick off event, Popsicles on the Playground! All North Beach students and their families are welcome to come enjoy a popsicle, play, and see our friends we missed over the summer.
- Purchase your child’s school supplies: The PTA pays for the teachers and staff to bulk purchase (at a big discount!) all the supplies needed for each student. We then ask parents to pay $35 per student to contribute towards the school supply costs. Make your purchase today on Konstella!
- Join the PTA (no time commitment required!): Your membership creates a strong voice for North Beach when we advocate for our students at a district, state, and national level. The closer we are to 100% participation the more the district and state understand how committed our community is to our school. Join today!
- New School Lunch System: Seattle Public Schools has a new system for managing how you pay for your student’s school lunch (and breakfast). Check it out here to get all set up for the year.
- Curriculum Night: September 17th the school will hold the annual curriculum night where you can come to the school, see your child's classroom, and meet their teacher. More info to come soon!
- Required Volunteer Training: If you want to volunteer in any capacity at the school (room parents, field trips, lunch duty, etc) you must have completed the SPS Volunteer Training within the last two years.
- Get our weekly newsletter: The PTA sends out a weekly newsletter every Friday called The Beachcomber. The newsletter includes crucial information from the PTA, Principal, the school office, and community. Sign up here.
Looking forward to seeing you all back at North Beach soon!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Markovitz
