Let The Big Give Begin!
The North Beach staff is so appreciative of the North Beach PTA, without whose backing we would be unable to implement many of the supports we currently have in place for students. Our families provide an essential partnership in our effort to meet the needs of all students. This year, funding provided by The Big Give is enabling students to have access to our academic interventionist, increased access to our nurse and counselor, library materials, and classroom resources. In advance of this year’s Big Give Campaign, and on behalf of the North Beach Staff, I would like to extend our deep gratitude for your support. Thank you!

This year, The Big Give has two goals:
- To raise $70,000 for our school and PTA.
- To create community through Herbie’s BINGO. Our simple and fun (for kiddos and grown ups) BINGO is back. Families can complete and email a picture to firstname.lastname@example.org or send it in via kid mail. Every returned bingo card wins a prize and enters into a drawing for a Herbie stuffy. What is The Big Give?
The Big Give (TBG) is North Beach’s second largest fundraiser. This direct giving fundraiser supports every aspect of your student’s school day: from water in the portables, to balls at recess; from increased access to the school Counselor and Nurse to smaller math classes and one on one support because of the Academic Interventionist and Tutors funding generously supported by your donation to the North Beach PTA makes it possible!
Why is The Big Give going on now?
The Big Give is one of three North Beach PTA fundraisers. Our community committed to a budget last year that included additional funding for staffing and while the PTA budget is running as lean as possible, our school requires three fundraisers (The big Give, The Auction, and Coach’s All Stars) to make our PTA and school programs happen.
What if I want to write a check and be done with it all?
You’re in luck! This year we’ve given you the option to cover the cost of the students in your household. The PTA has allocated funding totalling $650 per student. While we can’t opt you out of future funding emails (sorry, we tried!), you have the option to cover the cost per student and consider yourself done!
What is “Leveling Up”?
Leveling up is a fun way to show your North Beach pride! For a donation of $375 or more families are eligible to receive a cotton canvas North Beach sports bag. These fun incentives are a way to show increased support of your North Beach community. Each donation totaling $375 will receive a bag per donation ($375 receives 1 bag, $750 receives 2 bags, etc). There may be quantity limitations depending on community participation. Level Up incentives are usually delivered before winter break.

The future of Seattle Public Schools is unclear, what will my donation be used for if North Beach closes?
This is a big question and one that we will not know until after The Big Give Campaign is over. No one knows what the district will choose to do, but here at North Beach we take our fiduciary responsibility to the PTA and school very seriously. In the event we learn that North Beach will be consolidated, the PTA will offer refunds (minus the 3% processing fee) to those who request it. In addition, major financial decisions must be voted on by the General Membership. As is our custom, we will host our budget revision meeting in December to discuss financial changes needed in our budget. For more information on this topic click here.
