Remember - All kids entering through South Gate tomorrow morning!
Tue, Apr 7 9:33am

Just a reminder of the change for drop off tomorrow morning. ALL students will enter the school through the South Gate on the corner of 24th and 90th. The North Gate near the portables will be locked in the mornings.

Here's Principal McLane's notification explaining this change:

Beginning Monday, April 20, when students return from Spring Break, all students will enter campus exclusively through the South Gate.

This change is a proactive step to help us better monitor student entry onto campus and respond to ongoing traffic and pedestrian safety concerns near our North Gate.

We have heard ongoing concerns from drivers and community members who are worried about students crossing 24th Ave NW mid-block, and we want to take steps that support safer arrival routines for everyone.

Our decision is also aligned with guidance and best practices highlighted by the City of Seattle’s Safe Routes to School initiative, which emphasizes reducing traffic conflicts, improving supervision, and creating predictable entry points for students.

As with any change, there may be an adjustment period, but we believe this step best supports student safety.

Staff will be present to support students during this transition. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this updated arrival plan with your child.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.
