Popsicles on the Playground TONIGHT, 9/6 time 5:00 - 6:00pm
at the North Beach Elementary Playground
This is a great opportunity to meet other North Beach parents and learn about the PTA.
The PTA will also have the most current information about the potential Seattle Education Association (SEA) strike.
The potential strike will not impact the PTA's ability to host this event at the school.
What does a potential strike mean for parents and students of North Beach?
If SEA decides to strike, families will be informed on Tuesday, September 6th. The strike will impact the start of school. We do not know the length of a potential strike but previous ones have lasted two weeks. It is important to start planning now for your family’s needs for childcare, meals, etc.
With the potential of a strike, the NB PTA will have resources available and will discuss how families may get assistance from the PTA and local community.
North Beach has been selected as a picketing site which means you may see North Beach teachers, staff, and other SEA members picketing outside the school. Consider speaking to your student(s) about the potential strike and how it may impact them. Some students may express concern while others might be curious or excited by the activity. The North Beach Elementary PTA is committed to our students and encourages Seattle Public School and the Seattle Education Association to continue to bargain in good faith for the benefit of the students of Seattle Public Schools.
