Greetings OSA Families,
We appreciate your patience as we finalize the details for our after school care program. Our initial attempts to establish a partnership with outside organizations were unsuccessful due to our inability to meet the minimum number of students they were requiring to bring their programs to our campus.
In accordance with our commitment to provide safe after school care for our students, we will be organizing our own after school care program under the direction of assistant principal Mike Oz and supervision of Cassandra Freeman.
The program will officially begin on Tuesday, September 4th and will meet in the student center on Mondays from 1:00 - 5:00 and Tuesday-Friday from 3:15-5:00. The cost to families will be a daily flat rate of $10 for families that pay in advance or a $20 drop-in flat rate.
The daily fee will be waived for families that qualify and sign up for our free and reduced lunch program. You can apply online at https://mealapps.ousd.org or print the attached form and return it to Ms. Jones in the main office.
This is the lowest cost we can offer to families while keeping the program sustainable. Advance payments can be made by cash or check. The program coordinator will alert families when the account balance reaches $30 or less. Students that are enrolled in the program will have this denoted in their class schedule on Powerschool, giving families the ability to contemporaneously monitor their student’s after school attendance.
If you are interested in signing up for the after school program, please print and fill out the attached form and have dropped to the front office (to be placed in Mr. Oz’s box) by 9am on Friday, August 31st. Advanced payments can be made by cash or check (made out to OSA with “After School” on the memo line) and included with the form. Only families that have turned in the form with advanced payment by that time will be eligible for the $10 daily rate on September 4th.
