OUSD Nutrition Services (our school lunch provider) requires that students either pay cash or have enough money in their “MySchoolBucks” account to pay for lunch. OUSD has been allowing students to overdraw their account, but there are so many negative balances that OUSD is now implementing a more stringent policy starting Monday March 26.
- Only a complete lunch meal can be charged to a student’s account
- if the student takes a complete meal and then buys a single entrée (ie slice of pizza) the additional entrée must be paid with cash if there is no money in the account
- Students with negative balances will have to pay cash for meals
- Free and reduced lunch students receive a complete meal at the free or reduced rate. Student must pay for single items
In addition to the invoices that your student brings home, OSA will be assisting OUSD Nutrition Services by emailing their invoices to families with outstanding balances the week of March 19th.
Families can create an account or make deposits in their student’s lunch account by going to: MySchoolBucks
You can also send a check with your student to give to Ms. June, the person from OUSD who serves lunch at OSA. The check should be made payable to OUSD.
Starting Monday March 26th OUSD will post signs in the lunch serving area reminding students of the new policy.
