Dear OBE families,

We're halfway through April. We have a few big things happening this week and in the weeks to come. This week, I hope to see everyone for our Family Art Night and Open House on Thursday, April 17th. Come see the great work your students have been doing as well as student created art. We will have classrooms open from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and the Art Night will continue until 7:30pm. Don't forget we will have a number of other activities as well, including a book swap (donations accepted during morning drop off) and food trucks. Please join us! NOTE: due to safety reasons, the blue and red structures are not open for play during the event.

Also, applications for 2025-26 Primetime after school care will begin on Monday, April 14th. Information was sent out via the district office earlier. SDUSD has streamlined the enrollment process for the 2025-26 PrimeTime program. The new system will automatically pull st udent information from PowerSchool, reducing paperwork and making registration more efficient for families. The application window runs through May 2, 2025. We have seen a growing number of incidents and distractions due to the use of smart devices, specifically smart watches. Parents, please know that students are allowed to bring devices to school, they are not permitted to use them during the school day. Please help us in this by not contacting your students via a smartwatch. It can be very distracting and takes away learning time. I appreciate your help in this endeavor.
