Why is fundraising through the Jogathon important to Ocean Beach Elementary?

The OBE PTA works hard to raise funds to enrich the school experience for all of our students, and the Jogathon is by far our biggest fundraiser of the school year. We rely on the money raised to fund the following experiences that will help give OBE students a more joyful and dynamic education this school year:

• Guitars in the Classroom - a music enrichment program for all students
• STEM experiences that give students hands-on experiences beyond what can be provided through their regular curriculum (Portable Planetarium, Marine Floating Lab visit, classroom visit from San Diego Youth Science and more)
• Visual and Performing Arts enrichment
• Transportation for field trips
• Assemblies and community events to create core memories for all of our students
• Classroom supplies and campus improvements

Right now our community has raised more than $37,000 dollars — more than halfway to our goal of $55,000.

There is still time to fundraise through Friday, October 9!

As always, we appreciate your support! This community is something special.
