Fri, Jul 1 3:21pm

Dear Community School District 13 Students, Staff, Families & Community Partners,

I am honored and humbled to be selected to serve as your Acting Superintendent to lead Community School District 13 in this next chapter that we will write together. I look forward to collaborating with everyone as each perspective is unique and will add value to our collective goals. I am excited to learn even more about the beauty of Community School District 13. As a new member of your community, I understand and value the rich history of each of your school communities and the work that you have begun. I am eager to become a thought partner in our collective work together and strengthen existing practices, programs and initiatives throughout our district in alignment with the expressed needs.

As a leader for the past 23 years, I have set high expectations for our schools and recognize the importance of choice, voice and working in collaboration to support and achieve the goals we will set together. I am a leader who approaches my work with passion, integrity and urgency. My goal is to continue the work of cultivating environments where children and adults grow, flourish, and explore, while we center inclusivity and lift their voices to create change. My priority is co-creating environments where students are joyful, thriving, and possess the skills needed to navigate the competitive workforce and society. With the help of our community, families, and schools, we can realize our goals and carry out our mission and vision.

In the coming weeks, I will be engaging in Listening and Learning Tours to hear from you. I will be in contact shortly about the dates and times for the tours, which will include in-person and virtual opportunities for conversations. Hearing and learning about the amazing work happening in schools truly excites me! I have visited schools, CEC and President Council websites, social media pages and engaged in many conversations with community members. Based on what I have learned so far, I am excited about the current initiatives and opportunities for students and families. My search revealed a sense of pride, commitment, and dedication across the entire district, that I am honored to become a part of. I am also looking forward to seeing the alignment of current programs, systems, and structures with the Chancellor's Pillar focused on Scaling, Sustaining, and Restoring best practices. The main focus of my entry plan is to ensure that my transition as Acting Superintendent continues to facilitate the district’s history of sustained excellence, partnership and collaboration. Let the next chapter begin!

 In community,

Robin Davson
