Dear PS 20 Families,

I want to share some additional information regarding the shelter-in that took place on Tuesday, October 13th.  I know that any situation involving a school safety protocol can understandably raise questions or concerns for families, and I want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

We understand that families may want to know more about the circumstances surrounding the shelter-in.  For safety and security reasons, schools are limited in the details we are permitted to share regarding these types of situations.  We must follow NYCPS/DOE guidance regarding what information can be communicated, and we are therefore unable to provide details beyond what we are authorized to share.

Please know that we take every safety matter seriously and remain committed to following established protocols designed to protect our students, staff, and school community.
