Hello PS20 Families,

Many of you have received the notice from the DOE Situation Room indicating that the school building must be closed through the 24th.  However the latest update (forthcoming) from the Situation room indicates the following:

The DOHMH Surveillance Epidemiology Team has concluded their investigation and were unable to confirm links or community exposure in regards to the case(s) within your building(s). Because buildings have been closed since Friday, February 12th, the recommendation to extend the building closure for 10-days will end on February 21st, 2021. The building can reopen and resume normal activities on Monday, February 22, 2021.

The latest case was discovered through the onsite random testing in the building and by Tuesday 2/16 the DOE contact trace core had either notified or was in the process of notifying the affected PS20 community members/classrooms and reiterating the quarantine requirements.
Also note that PS20 families may continue to receive situation room messages about the detected PS20 cases over the next few days, from the RTSCH (the DOE situation room). These subsequent messages reflect DOE situation room protocol and do not reflect any additional/separate cases..

Please stay connected via email and Konstella  and look out for the official notice about the opening date.  Also reach out to members of your class community that might be disconnected from Konstella and email.
We apologize for any confusion and thank you for your patience as we worked to get answers and clarity from the DOE in regard to this matter.

We hope you are getting good rest over this break. Thanks for all you do to support keeping PS20 healthy and safe!
