Hello Mosaic parents!
There’s a ton of news to share before Thanksgiving Break!
First, we’re excited to announce that we have scheduled our registration date for the Spring 2020 semester. Mark your calendars for Monday December 9th at noon. We will be releasing a sneak peek of our new schedule next week, so check your email for updates.
We’re also planning some changes to the program, based on parent feedback and lessons learned since our launch in September 2018:
- We are piloting a new “Pre-K only” Mosaic program, to respond to demand while continuing to provide safe, fun care for our youngest PS 20 students. Pre-K students will have their own, separate classes, with no more than 18 children per class. They will continue to have lots of free time for supervised free play and activities, and will attend a pre-K, only class each day. This program requires greater staffing because of mandated staff-to-student ratios for pre-K students, and therefore will cost $32 per day.
- So that K-5th grade students remain engaged during the longer spring semester, we’ve changed the length of time that we run our enrichment classes. Enrichment classes will start January 6 and end May 22. After May 22, until the end of the school year, Mosaic staff and PS20 teachers will be teaching mini-month-long sessions that will give kids the opportunity to learn something new and have fun (including outdoors) until school ends.
- To avoid confusion surrounding discounts, we’ve streamlined the process. There will be a 7% discount for enrollment in 5 or more classes in the same cart--including if those classes are for siblings in the same household.
Like last semester, scholarships will be need-based and awarded on a rolling basis. If you would like to apply for a scholarship and haven’t already, please fill out this application form as soon as possible! Please reach out if you have questions about any of the above, and Happy Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for our families and our PS. 20 community!
