As you all know the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated its recommendations for physical distancing in schools, decreasing it from six feet to three feet for students. We were also told by DOE leadership that there will be another opt-in window for 100% Remote Learning families beginning this Wednesday, March 24 through Wednesday, April 7.
To clarify, this opt- in period is for families requesting to change from 100% Remote Learning to Blended Learning. There has been no discussion about Blended Learning cohorts being combined and made larger or adding more live instructional days for the current Blended Learning program.
I understand that there are many questions and concerns. Specifically I have received questions regarding the impact on current class configurations, questions regarding the actual capacity limits, and questions regarding the impact on instruction these are valid questions that will be answered over time.
All of our 100% Remote families were informed of this new opt in period this morning. Before I move forward with a plan of any kind, I must wait and see how many families are interested in returning to in person learning. Our capacity to accommodate the requests is certainly in question at this time. Please bear with us as we move toward preparing for this change. I will do my best to keep the community updated to the best of my ability.
