Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
We wanted to provide you with a brief update on PS 20's outdoor learning and eating space.
Friday's storm unfortunately took down 4 of our 11 tents. Saturday morning, parents worked to secure the remaining tents and clean up the space so that it is usable this coming week. Despite losing 4 tents, there should be no impact upon the current outdoor eating schedule.
In some good news, approximately 20 volunteers, along with our school custodians, helped clean up and spread mulch over the Parham Playground dirt patch adjacent to the school yard. With six picnic benches, the space looks great (see attached picture) and will hopefully become an asset to both the school and the broader PS 20 community - we all need to work to keep dog owners from using the space as a dog run.
The PTA in partnership with Ms. Barbera and her team will continue to work to improve our outdoor eating and learning space.
Thank you to all the parents who came out for any of our barnraiser events this year and to all the parents who support the PTA - without you none of this would be possible.
