PS 20 TOWN HALL FOR THE FUTURE: From PTA CO-PRESIDENTS
Tue, Mar 16 1:21pm
Hello P.S. 20 Family,

Please join us this Wednesday at 6pm for our community Town Hall where we'd like to assess where we are as a school community and talk about the path ahead as we look forward to PS20 after the pandemic.

This has been an incredibly challenging and overwhelming many of us.   Some of us may share our challenges, but many of us do not, feeling alone in these situations, out of the loop and unempowered.  But as we work to transition from this tumultuous time, we believe that the heart is the greatest tool at our disposal; the engine that will power our future.

We'll spend the first 15 mins sharing a bit about the what PS20 was doing before COVID and some lessons learned since.   Then we'll talk about what's on the horizon and ways you can help.   Lastly, we want an ideas pitch fest!  New parents, old parents, blended parents, remote parents - you've been thinking of ideas to bring to the school - and we want to give you the floor to do that.

We have an incredible community that's always been a source of pride.  So we're looking to this town hall as a chance to remember the school that we were becoming pre-COVID - not just the initiatives that we were able to accomplish, but also the spirit that we were working to cultivate. We also want to talk about the fantastic opportunities ahead of us, knowing that together we can finish this year strong and united for the future.

As always, thank you for your patience and perseverance and participation to this point and know that the absolute best way to support the school at this moment is to join in and rally behind a vision for the future - one in which your voices as parents and teachers matter.

Sincerely,

Lawrence "LAW" Watford & Dr. Meryem Bencheikh-Ellis
PTA Co-Presidents.

P.S. We really want to encourage new, pre-k, K and 1st grade families to join us, as well as teachers.  Also, if you're unable to attend and want to submit any questions or ideas, then email those to Board@ps20.org
