Dear PS20 Community,

Thanks to the volunteers, teachers & parents for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair held last week! Did you know that the Book Fair is also a fundraiser? Proceeds over a sales goal will be donated back to the school. Our appreciation to the Literacy Committee for organizing. But wait -- the Fair's not over! Anyone from anywhere can CONTINUE SHOPPING ONLINE through December 21, 2025 ➡️ www.ps20.org/bookfair

Hope all had a great time at the December Movie Night and the Winter Market, held this past Friday.  We thank the amazing Market vendors who donated a portion of all their sales back to the school.

PTA COMMITTEE UPDATES/REMINDERS

Looking for ways to engage with the school more? Many of the activities and programs that make PS20 special are created and directly managed (and paid for!) by you, the PS20 community, through our various committees. Any amount of contribution is welcome whether that’s with ideas, time, elbow grease or money!

  • Afterschool Committee: If you haven't already, please submit any 504 Accommodations, Medication Administration Forms or related documents to the PS20 Nurse and Front Office (especially if your student has Allergy Anaphylaxis, Diabetes or other serious medical concerns). If your child is enrolled in any afterschool programs, be sure those admins have a copy, also! Find everything you need on the NYC Public Schools page ➡️ https://bit.ly/NYCschoolhealthservices

  • Green Arts Committee: The PS20 garden compost is now accepting pumpkins! 🎃 Bring your old jack-o-lanterns to the compost collection bin on Willoughby Ave.

  • PTA Fundraising Committee seeking members -- Please email fund@ps20.org to add your interest

  • PTA Picture Day Committee seeking a Co-Lead -- Please email pictureday@ps20.org if you'd like to learn more about helping coordinate the Stomping Ground picture days (February + March 2026)  ➡️ ps20.org/pictureday

  • PTA Field Trips Committee would like to hear from you -- Suggestion box is open ➡️ ps20.org/fieldtrips . Join the committee on Konstella or email fieldtrips@ps20.org

  •  PTA Community Closet is open -- All are welcome to come by Room 126 on Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays from 8:30am to 9:30am to 'shop' for free winter coats, vests, sweaters, sweatshirts, boots, and more! ➡️ Join the CS&S Committee on Konstella or email supportservice@ps20.org

  • Utopia Lab seeks members!  Parents — we want YOU in the lab, too! This year, we’re on a mission to bring more parents into the STEAM fun. If you love science, tech, art, or just being creative, join our STEAM Committee! You’ll stay in the loop on how you can volunteer, present, or share your skills with our curious young minds.  ➡️ Join the STEAM Committee on Konstella or email steam@ps20.org

  • Annual Appeal continues -- Did you know... the PTA spends around $500 per student for the year? We need 20 more families to set up a recurring monthly donation of $25 or $50 or more to be included in our Fundraising Match Challenge! ➡️ ps20.org/donate
