AFTERSCHOOL CLASSES WITH BROOKLYN MUSIC SCHOOL
PS20 is one of the lucky grantees of the Cultural After-School Adventures Program (CASA) through the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. For many years now, we have enjoyed *free* after school arts programming with Brooklyn Music School for PS20 students in Grades 3-5.
Spring music classes with BMS will commence this year starting February 23, 2026. Classes will be held from 2:40 to 3:30 p.m. every week until approximately June 5 (except for choir). To participate in the woodwind and brass classes, students will need to bring their own mouthpieces.
Contact PS20 music instructor Mr Hampton lhampton2@schools.nyc.gov if you'd like to register your student and for more information.

COMMITTEE UPDATES & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- STEAM Committee looking for parent volunteers to join the committee and assist with Science Fair sponsor outreach. ➡️ steam@ps20.org
The PS20 Science Fair will be held on March 27 and is a requirement for all Grade 5 students (and any younger students wishing to participate). Interested parents, please join the committee group on Konstella or email steam@ps20.org.
- We are looking for parent volunteers to coach & assist students working on their science fair projects after school on March 3, 10 and 17 (approx. 3 - 4pm).
- We are also reaching out to parents & STEAM-related organizations or vendors who would be interested in having a demonstration table at the PS20 Science Fair on March 27 to show off what they do! In the past, we've had medical imaging and robotics demos.
- The International & Multicultural Families Committee invites parent volunteers to co-lead our upcoming monthly multicultural celebrations and help keep our IB cultural values—diversity, inclusion, and global understanding—strong and visible, especially in today’s challenging political climate.
