Congrats to the PS20 Debate Team for their participation in last week's District 13-wide debate tournament; as well as the PS20 Visionaries Chess Team who represented at this weekend's NY State Scholastic Tournament in Saratoga Springs.

COMMITTEE UPDATES & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • STEAM Committee looking for parent volunteers to join the committee and assist with Science Fair sponsor outreach. Seeking STEAM-related organizations or vendors who would be interested in having a demonstration table at the PS20 Science Fair on March 27 to show off what they do! In the past, we've had medical imaging and robotics demos.

  • The International & Multicultural Families Committee invites parent volunteers to co-lead our upcoming monthly multicultural celebrations and help keep our IB cultural values—diversity, inclusion, and global understanding—strong and visible, especially in today’s challenging political climate. Ideally, we’re aiming for 3–4 volunteers per event so these celebrations can move forward. ➡️ Email analourdes@ps20.org or complete our form

    * Co-lead a celebration connected to your family’s culture or interests
    * Help with Ideas, food, activities, storytelling, music, or crafts
    * Support planning and day-of coordination 

  • Community Support & Service - All are welcome to 'shop' the Community Closet on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings after 8:30am. 
  • Fundraising Committee is gearing up for PS20 PTA’s Spring Gala -- our biggest fundraiser of the year -- seeking amazing items for the live and silent auction at The Love Ball!

    * Donate Items: We welcome all donations such as apparel, jewelry, artwork, lessons, dining & entertainment experiences, special services, and vacation home stays!

    * Find Sponsors: Do you have connections to local businesses, restaurants, or organizations that might sponsor the event or donate something special? Help us reach out! Sponsorships can be monetary or in-kind donations (e.g., catering, auction items, event services).
