As we have mentioned in the past, a BIG need for PS 20 is parent volunteer support during lunch and recess.  Kindergarten is now also eating outside most days and we need extra help for supporting our little ones with the transition to outdoor lunch.

If you have an hour during the day and are willing and able to help out with lunch and recess, please consider signing up for a volunteer shift.  Volunteering responsibilities include supervising students during lunch and recess (in the cafeteria and outside in the playground and the outdoor eating area) and helping kids who need it (maybe helping open a lunch container, encouraging throwing trash out, and identifying and sometimes intervening when there is conflict).  We also have a need for parents who have an interest in organizing games and activities during recess - especially for the older grades.

Volunteer shifts start 10 minutes before the lunch & recess period begins.  Please check in at the PS 20 Admin office at the beginning of the shift. 

If you haven't volunteered before or done the lunch and recess training, Ms. Colon will reach out to you in advance of your shift.
