Parham Park incident on Sunday April 4
Fri, Apr 9 5:12pm

 Dear PS 20 Community:

As many of you already heard there was an assault on a child in Parham playground on Sunday April 2.   I contacted the NYPD and received confirmation from the Anti-Crime Unit that the unfortunate incident did in fact occur.  NYPD confirmed that the perpetrator was arrested; therefore, there is no imminent threat.

The child is not a PS 20 student. However, this does not make this incident any less disturbing. We are all saddened by this,  and very concerned for this child.

All PS 20 staff members were notified of the incident.   Although there is no imminent threat, teachers were reminded to remain vigilant when it comes to student safety while outside for free play and outdoor learning.

Please note that PS 20 students do not use the Parham Park rest room.  This has been the school policy since we started using the park as our recess space in 2009.

If you have further concerns, you may contact the NYPD community affairs.
