Hello PS 20 Community,
Energy Climate Action Day in NYC Public Schools is on Wednesday, February 4th!
We encourage everyone in our school community to reduce their energy waste on this day and everyday in an effort to combat climate change, as less energy consumption means fewer fossil fuels burned.
Here's how you can participate for Energy Climate Action Day:
-Walk, bike, (maybe not in snow!) or use public transit to get to school and work
-Reduce use of computers, smart boards, and other electronics.
-Unplug electronics when you are not using them.
*Please take a moment to show students the attached short video on how we can save energy at home and at school. There is an action item at the end of the video encouraging kids to make a checklist or a poster of how to reduce energy use. If your child or your classes participate in this activity please do send them in to me so that I can hang them up throughout the building.
Thank you for your support!
Best Regards,
Ms. Jessica (Science Teacher, Sustainability Coordinator)
