Cases of flu (types A + B) and strep have recently been reported in the school. Here are a few things to remember to stay healthy & what to do when sick:
- Practice good hygiene by covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands often, using hand sanitizer, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
- Consider wearing a mask: Masks are an important layer of protection to stop the spread of respiratory viruses. You should always wear a mask when sick and around other people or if you were recently exposed to someone with a respiratory illness (respiratory illnesses include flu and RSV).
- Please notify your teacher & classroom to let them know if your child has a confirmed diagnosis of an illness that can spread to others.
- If your child has a fever, your child should stay home for at least 24 hours until they do not have a fever without taking fever-reducing medicine.
- If you or your child is experiencing symptoms of norovirus (such as vomiting or diarrhea), stay home and avoid contact with others until at least 48 hours after symptoms resolve to prevent spreading the virus.
