Hello Students and Families,
I hope this email finds you well during this uncertain time. During the period of time when schools are closed, we will be using digital resources to continue science instruction. As you know, we often complete hands-on experiments and activities in science class, so we will have to be creative and use what we have access to at home!
1. We have created class accounts which can be accessed through Google Classroom.
5th graders: all children have already signed up in science class.
3rd and 4th graders: check your child's PS372 email address and accept the invitation that I sent yesterday. You will find assignments and messages from science teachers in this account throughout the coming weeks. If you do not know your child's PS372 email and password, feel free to reach out.
2. We will continue to assign activities, including videos and readings, through www.fossweb.com.
4th and 5th graders: are already familiar with these resources. There is a student reader in both English and Spanish, and children can easily listen to the digital text aloud by clicking on the microphone icon on the page.
3rd graders: Check out the attached slideshow for information on how to log in and use the resources at home. This could also be a good reminder for 4th and 5th graders if needed :).
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or just want to check in and share some of the cool science you are doing at home. We are posting some optional preliminary activities this week before online learning officially begins on Monday. Be well, and take care of yourselves, and each other.
