Dear D15 Friends and Families,

Once a year, the Office of District Planning visits each District Community Education Council to discuss planning needs and priorities. This includes a discussion of data on enrollment, space, and demographics in each district.

If you've attended any of our Fall meetings, you will see some familiar faces presenting in District 15 on December 17th. Senior Associate Director of Planning, Will Candell, will lead the conversation.

The Office of District Planning focuses the following priorities:

o    Increasing access to quality schools and programs

o    Increasing diversity and integration across schools

o    Improving learning conditions for students

o    Partnering with and empower communities

In collaboration with school communities, Superintendents, and partner offices, the Office of District Planning develops strategic district plans that drive equity and excellence The levers used to address pressing district needs and improve educational options and learning conditions for students include: Rezoning/un-zoning in partnership with CEC, merger, closure, new schools, grade reconfiguration, re-siting, new programs, enrollment planning and redesign.

Bring your friends, PA/PTA and SLT members to this meeting to discuss planning needs and priorities in District 15, and what we can do to improve conditions for all of our students, staff and teachers. All school community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

In addition, CEC Members will continue to report on their school visits and the Capital Needs and Requests of their Liaison schools.

If you have questions that you would like to submit in advance, please reach out to your CEC15 School Liaison.

We hope you will join us:
