To the Children's School Community:
We want to share some NYCDOE Resources for celebrating Civics for All Week and Women's History Month this year!
Civics for All
Civics Week will be taking place March 6—10, 2023. Civics Week is a time for schools across the city to celebrate youth voice, and civic empowerment. Civics Week includes efforts to get every young person to understand that their voice matters and that they can create change as active participants of their community. One way to celebrate is to Bike to School on 3/8!

Women's History Month
March is Women’s History Month! This month serves as a time to honor the achievements and contributions that women of all backgrounds have made throughout the history of the United States, both by remembering those who paved the way in the struggle for gender equity in the United States, and by recognizing the history-makers and barrier breakers of today. In 2023, the theme for Women’s History Month is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories,” which “honors women in every community who have devoted their lives and talents to producing art, pursuing truth, and reflecting the human condition decade after decade.” The theme of International Women’s Day is “Embrace Equity.”
