Dear PS 372 Community,
On behalf of the Diversity Committee we would like to welcome you to another exciting year at the Children's School! This year the committee is co-chaired by Rafael Luna and Adam Strum. We look forward to working with our returning members, and meeting new people who would like to help in continuing the tradition of diversity in our school. Being an inclusion school, our student body is inherently diverse with regard to the way individuals learn. Since the school's founding, the Diversity Committee has played a role in setting up programs and events which also ensure that our school represents a vast array of backgrounds and cultures. Programs include the Buddy System, which pairs new families with a parent that can acquaint them with our school, and an Outreach community which does the work of getting the word out about our school to surrounding neighborhoods within District 15. Our first school event, Roots and Community, is the backbone of our inclusive mission. It will be held on Saturday, November 3, and is where we first celebrate our diverse heritage within the school.
The Diversity Committee will be holding it's first meeting on Friday, September 28 at 8:30 am in the cafeteria. Please join us if you would like to learn more about what we do and get involved. Thank you so much and we hope to see you there!
Adam and Rafael
