1) Emily Correia Golay (John & Geddes in K)
My name is Ellen Correia Golay.  I am a parent of two kindergarteners (John in K-3 and Geddes in K-1) and this is our family’s second year as part of The Children’s School community.  I also manage the U.S. Treasury markets desk at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and I have contributed to many diversity initiatives at the FRBNY.  I am running for the SLT because during this uncertain time, I have become very interested in how we think about best educating our children in this challenging environment, taking into account the diverse needs of all the students in our school community.  I am excited by the opportunity to work with parents and our school leaders to develop strategies to navigate this difficult time.
2) Alexis Goldberg (Alice - Pre-K)
My name is Alexis Goldberg and I'm a proud new Children's School parent to PreK-er Alice Gale. I have loved our time at The Children's School so far, and am grateful to Ms. Elba, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Perry and Ms. Karen for making a wonderful experience for Alice and her classmates despite the challenges of this moment. I'm interested in running for the SLT because I'm excited to be part of The Children's School community and would like to offer my unique skills and talents to the school. I have over 15 years experience working in public education, including as a teacher and coach, and currently serve as Managing Director of School Support for The Urban Assembly, an organization that supports 23 public middle and high schools across NYC. In my role I work closely with school leaders and teachers, know the ins and outs of DOE systems and structures, and understand some of the hard choices that confront schools and school systems. I am passionate about creating a more equitable and anti-racist school system and hope that I can bring that passion, along with my knowledge and commitment, to this role. Thanks for your consideration!
3) Gabriel Snyder (Emmett & Ronan - 3rd grade)
Hello, my name is Gabriel Snyder. I am the parent of two third-graders, Emmett and Ronan, and have been proud to be a part of The Children’s School community these last three years. I am submitting my name for your consideration because one of the most important things our family has learned these last few years is that everything that makes TCS an outstanding school is because of the passionate and energetic community of faculty, staff, and families who support our students. My communication skills come from my professional background as an editor and a writer. After working for numerous publications, I have lately been running a small consultancy that has developed my management and budgeting skills. I hope to apply those skills to the SLT and reciprocate the passion and energy I’ve come to expect within the TCS community, and I would be honored to be chosen as a parent representative on the SLT.
