Inclusive Schools Week
Fri, Dec 9 11:03am

To the Children's School Community:

This week is Inclusive Schools Week which celebrates the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors. The theme this year is Unity within Our Community.

We are excited to recognize the event this year (OK... a week late, sorry) in the following ways in addition to our usual school day:

  • A virtual parent workshop "What is Inclusion and ICT?" (invite to follow 12/13@9:30am)
  • One School, One Book reading of A Friend Like You by Frank Murphy and Charnaie Gordon (invite to follow 12/14@8:40am)
  • Participating in Citywide Inclusion Summit Activities throughout the year
  • Asking families to continue to have meaningful conversations about diversity and disability

We are excited to continue building a strong inclusive community at The Children's School. Again, thank you to all of you who helped celebrate unity in our community during Roots and Community this year!

Thank you,
