Dear Children’s School Families and Students:
I am so excited to officially welcome you to the new school year at 372K-The Children’s School! I hope you enjoyed your summer, relaxing and making wonderful memories with family and friends. My family and I vacationed in Italy. We spent time visiting amazing Rome and Naples and while there we flew to my hometown, Carini, Palermo, Sicilia. There we spent time eating our favorite foods and visiting with the many family members that we haven’t seen in too long. It was a summer filled with joyful memories. Whether you stayed local or traveled far and wide, I hope you had the opportunity to make your own memories.
The first day of school is September 5, 2018. School hours at our Main site are 8:20-3:10 and at our ASD site, 8:10-3:00. We are looking forward to seeing you all. By now, you should have received a letter from your new teacher. That letter included arrival and dismissal procedures specific to your grade. Please familiarize yourselves with the procedures as they will help us get off to a good start.
At our Main building, beginning this year, all third, fourth and fifth graders will walk to their respective classrooms without parent escorts. First graders will have a new arrival door and parents are welcome to accompany their child during the first few weeks of school. After that, students will walk on their own, of course, staff will be available in the a.m. to make sure the kiddos get to their classroom once this transition begins. Pre-K and K will be accompanied by a parent for the entire school year. These details have been outlined for you and I am available to speak with you if the need arises.
Your Assistant Principal’s, Rosa Perez Leonetti and Bridget Nash and the entire school community are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning with you all of you!
