PTA Meeting Recap: Slides and Recording Now Available
Fri, Apr 19 10:53am

Thank you to the parents and staff who attended our hybrid PTA meeting on Wednesday at Carroll Street and to everyone who joined remotely.  This was an experiment in the true sense of the word: Thank you to our PTA co-presidents, Raquel and Katherine, and Katherine Hedge, EB member and parent from Adelphi, for making it happen.

There were a few hiccups but we have the slides and audio of most of the meeting available online now  for the school community to view.

Some highlights:

  • There is a 372 outing to the Yankees game against the Rays on Saturday at 1:10 pm. We have 5 seats left!  Email info@ps372pta.org for $65 seats that come with a backpack and donation to the PTA.

  • Buy your Early Bird tickets for the adults-only Spring Party on May 17th  at Industry City before the price will goes up after Spring Break. This is the only adults only party of the year and one of our biggest fundraisers. Staff and parents have a great time, and if you're nervous because you don't know anyone..... word on the street is we're super nice and you should come meet us!  Join up with parents in your class and come hang out.  If you have donations for the silent auction, you can let us know at auctiondonation@ps372pta.org

  • In school carnivals are coming to Adelphi (May 10) and Carroll Street (May 22).  Watch for volunteer sign ups for the day-of help!

  • A Spelling Bee at Carroll Street for 3rd-5th grades is being planned for May 1. More details to come from Frank and Ms. Jackie.  Congrats to the two Adelphi students who are taking part in the D75 Spelling Bee in mid-May.

  • State testing is happening now and is ongoing. The last round of NYC-mandated screeners (MAP growth and Acadience) will happen between May 1 and June 14.

  • Parents as Partners on May 3 (specialists) is the last one for the year.

  • One School, One Book: Asian American and Pacific Islander Month is scheduled for May 24, 2024 - Reach out to Frank if you're interested in being a reader.

We are also starting to think about next school year and the Executive Board elections that will happen before June.  Some EB members are graduating and moving on and we want to keep our momentum going. If you are interested in joining the PTA in any capacity, please let us know: info@ps372pta.org

  • There are lots of ways to get involved -  share your particular expertise, help run one community partnership, work on one event -- all of which enrich the experiences every student has while at school.

We wish everyone a restful spring break and we'll see you on May 1st when school's back in session.
