Good Afternoon,

We received word that the initial demolition of the playground is set to begin this evening.  As is standard practice with all school construction projects, the work area will be restricted, and dust control measures will be used during soil excavation activities to minimize airborne particles from leaving the work zone. Please know that work will be performed when school is not in session. Following excavation, the soil will be removed and disposed of at an authorized facility, and the trucks transporting the soil will be covered. In view of this, there would be no impact expected to school occupants.

Since the construction will limit access to the small school yard for the foreseeable future we have made adjustments to ensure access to the gym for recess.  Arrival will continue to be through the gate on Whitwell Place but all students enter through the first door.  If this causes a problem, we will adjust and come up with alternate entrance plans.
