Fri, Feb 14 3:09pm

Congratulations Readers!

We had a great mid-month tally today for our Readathon. Thank you to all who have been reading and logging, and for remembering to send in your logs today! Here is a list of the classes with the highest participation in each grade thus far:

PreK 2

K2

1-2

2-1 (with 90%!)

3-1

4-1

5-2

No worries if you forgot to bring your reading log to school via backpack for collection today. We are doing the final tally of minutes read on Thursday, 3/5. We will hand out all backpack badges earned and all the participation certificates on that day.

Families should total up all minutes read at the end of February and return log sheets and sponsor sheets by Tuesday, 3/3, so that we all ready for the final tally on Thursday, 3/5.

Those students who have already hit the 1000 Minute Mark - Congrats!!! You should have received all you milestone minute badges today (125, 250, 500 & 1000) and your 1000 minute bookmark. But, KEEP READING & LOGGING because there is a new gold backpack badge that you will receive at the end of the Read-a-thon if you do.

If you need new log sheets or new sponsor sheets, no problem, they are available in the PTA office, and also can be downloaded and printed off the inclusions website.

As a reminder about prizes, all participants will receive a certificate, students who reach milestone minute marks (125, 250, 500 & 1000) will receive a badge that recognizes each minute mark and will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate to Community Bookstore in Park Slope. There are four gift cards, one for each milestone minute mark. If you reach the 125 mark, you will be entered into one drawing. If you reach the 1000 minute mark you will be entered into four drawings. The class in each grade with the most participation will receive a bookmark and get to help choose a title for our school library. Classes with 100% participation on Final Tally Day will get a pizza party.

Thank you to all our supportive teachers, our wonderful parent volunteers and to all our participating readers. Good luck getting sponsors - ask grand-parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and co-workers to support your child's reading and PS 372! Check out the suggested sponsor script on the back of your sponsor sheet for help.

We look forward to more fun and prizes at the end of our Readathon!

Sincerely,

Team Readathon
