Solar Eclipse
Mon, Apr 8 10:02am
Hello Children's School Families:

As you know, this historic event only comes once in a lifetime, and this is a wonderful opportunity for our Children' School community to witness a solar ellipse.

We will have regular dismissal for our walkers and bus students starting at 2:45pm and Stay and Play will take place as scheduled.

While we do not want children leaving early, but we understand that some of our families wish to be home and indoors for the Solar Eclipse.  If you would like to pick up your child early, please do so by 1:30pm. We will not release any student after 1:30pm. Also, please email Ms. Yvette or your child's teachers to inform them of any early pick-up plans, to limit interruptions.

All students will be given solar eclipse glasses to view the partial eclipse that will begin just around 3:15/3:20pm.  Solar Eclipse glasses were purchased and distributed by our amazingly supportive PTA. Our team of Science teachers have been instrumental in this process of learning and bringing excitement to the historic event.

Every child will receive a pair of glasses prior to the end of the school day.  The PTA does have a few extras, but we ask that parents have your own glasses if you wish to participate.

If you wish to join us at 3:00pm, we are gathering outside on 1st Street in front of our Recreation Building.

We ask that you make certain your child is able to wear the glasses for the entirety of the Solar Eclipse. Viewing the solar eclipse can be an exciting event, but it's crucial to do so safely.

If you feel that your child cannot remain with proper eye protections, like solar eclipse glasses on, then we ask that you do not join and move quickly home to be indoors

Thank you,
Yvette Agas-Bautz
