Good morning Children's School Families and Community

I hope you all had a wonderful spring break.

Summer Rising 2022 K-8 Enrollment is now open.

This summer, DOE and DYCD plan to serve a record number of students through Summer Rising, a free, safe, and fun academic and enrichment program for NYC students currently in grades K-8.

We encourage families to apply early to secure a spot at their preferred location. Enrollment is quick and easy, and it can be completed from any device with an internet connection or by contacting your school’s Parent Coordinator.

This year, families can submit one enrollment per child, so please choose your site carefully. You can enroll at any Summer Rising location with seats available for your child's grade band (K-5 or 6-8). Many schools will be located in a different building for the summer; if you are unsure where your school will be operating Summer Rising, contact your school or view the building list posted further down on this webpage.

If your child has a 9-digit OSIS (student ID) number, make sure you have it on-hand to complete your enrollment.

Please Note:

  • We will be reserving Summer Rising seats for students who need to attend summer school for promotional purposes.
  • We will be reserving Summer Rising seats for students whose IEPs recommend 12-month programmatic services (participating in D75 Ch. 683 and D1-32 ESY programming), and therefore these students do not need to enroll via the Enrollment Portal. We will share more information with families in the coming weeks on how to sign up for afternoon enrichment programming.
  • Students in ASD Nest/Horizon programs, students in D75 Inclusion programs, and students with 12-month related services (who would like to participate in Summer Rising and are not already in 12-month Ch. 683 or ESY programming) will need to enroll in Summer Rising via the Enrollment Portal. Families have received communications with additional details and should reach out to their principal for more information or with questions.
  • We encourage charter school families to contact their school about programming they may be offering through Summer Boost NYC(Open external link), a new summer initiative focused on supporting charter school students this summer. Charter school families can enroll in either Summer Rising or Summer Boost NYC programming, but not both.
