The NY International Children's Film Festival opens next week on Feb 22 and continues through the middle of March. This year offers a fantastic program - the films hail from around the world and the subject matter ranges from silly to serious, animation to documentary -- giving kids to a chance to see the world and explore issues from new perspectives. There are extra brochures located on the PTA desk in the cafeteria- please grab some if you need them.
The Short Films programs are always a highlight and this year includes a program focused on Dutch shorts - Friends and Neighbors: Netherlands as well collections for each age group. This year's feature films include highly anticipated Japanese anime - Okko's Inn, the triumphant French bike adventure, Raoul Taburin; and the beautiful nature doc, Aïlo - a Lapland Odyssey, which follows a newborn reindeer through it's first steps in the arctic poles (screening in French and English).
