An Update from Extended Day Regarding The Fall
Fri, Jul 10 12:01pm
Dear PS10 Families,

The Chancellor has released his preliminary plan for the fall and we know that the news has left many of you with questions and concerns. While we wait to hear from the PS10 administration on which model PS10 will be able to accommodate and how they will implement it, the Extended Day team is making plans of our own so we can be ready to serve our families and fill in the gaps as best we can.

Here's what we're working on:

- We are working closely with the PS10 administration to see if we can run any portion of the program on-site for the days the students attend classes.

- We are planning live, remote learning sessions for small groups of students that will reinforce the curriculum assigned by classroom teachers. In addition, we will also offer online enrichment classes to either supplement or fill in what is missing from the school days.

- We will offer in-person, small group outings in the park and around the neighborhood to get kids moving and give parents a short break (with safety measures in place, naturally).

While we have many ideas of our own, we would like to hear from you! Please take a few minutes to fill out this short survey we've created. And if you have further ideas that you'd like to suggest that are not included in the survey, please email ed.chair@pta.ps10.org

We hope that pivoting our services to offer these new initiatives represent Extended Day’s effort to best serve the needs of the community, parents and students.

We look forward to hearing from you.

The PS10 Extended Day Team
