Good morning families,
As reported by the local news outlets, an attempted abduction of a teen student occurred on Friday the 22nd. The location of the incident was on 19th Street and 7th Ave. The young girl is safe because she thought quickly enough to run to a secure place.
Please take a moment today to speak to your children about safe behavior and what to do if a stranger approaches them. These topics can be stressful and frightening so please keep your eyes and ears out for signs of anxiety, such as; separation issues, mood swings, difficulty sleeping, appetite changes. Our counseling department will be available to speak to children if you feel that they need additional support. I've included some links to review and incorporate into your conversations. Our teachers have been sent the same material and have been asked to begin to discuss these very important issues in class, as a group.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.
