STOP DE KINDERMOORD: NYC KIDS MARCH FOR SAFE STREETS MONDAY, MARCH 12 AT 6 PM
Gather at Prospect Park West and 9th Street. After a driver ran a red light and killed two children in Brooklyn, parents and kids from across New York City are planning a protest march for safe streets. Please join us. Bring flowers, and your family. We will take a kid-paced march down 9th Street to the site of the crash. Stop de Kindermoord: NYC Kids March for Safe Streets is named after child-led protests against cars in the Netherlands in the 1970s.
Stop de Kindermoord, or Stop the Child-Murder, sparked a dramatic cultural shift, and inspired the Netherlands to reclaim cities and towns from cars, leading to a huge decline in traffic fatalities. Traffic fatalities remain the leading cause of death (besides illness) for children in New York City. More info on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/922683841246472/
