Friday is November’s Parents as Learning Partners, aka First Fridays. On the First Friday of every month, from 8:40am-9:30am, parents are invited into their children’s classrooms to participate in a special project. Immediately following each First Friday, at 9:30am in the Cafeteria, join PS10’s Parent Coffee, an informal discussion on various topics by school officials.
Fri., November 2, 7-11pm | Island Dreams: Annual Auction & Gala | TICKETS ARE ON SALE! AUCTION IS ONLINE! VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!
Island Dreams is this Friday! Are you ready for an adults-only, Caribbean-themed party with your PS10 parent friends at Littlefield in Gowanus?! The OPEN BAR will include wine, beer, and rum punch. (Cash bar for anything else.) Delicious food from Negril BK will be served. Hot reggae band, Twister, will perform—plus a DJ spinning dancehall, soca, calypso and more. AND hundreds of items and experiences will be auctioned or raffled off!
The Auction is now LIVE and items are open for bidding! We're still adding items, so keep checking back this week, but Click here to get started. You can also register to bid in advance of the night of the auction by clicking "Register to Bid" in the upper right-hand corner. You’ll be prompted to set up a profile, but you won't need to enter your credit card unless you decide to bid on an item. We highly recommend you do this ahead of the event so you're ready to bid right away, but we'll have staff on site to walk you through the set-up process just in case.

Tues., November 6th | Election Day Bake Sale
PS10 will be hosting a Red, White and Blue Bake Sale on Election Day. The PTA would love the help of the parent community to help work the bake sale that day. We would also welcome any and all baked goods or lunch items to sell and remember it does not have to be homemade! All proceeds from the bake sale will benefit the PS10 PTA and the programs it supports. Please sign up here to volunteer.
Sat., November 17th, PS10 Gives Back & Family Portrait Day
PS.10's very own photographers in residence will be offering families the opportunity to book a sitting for family photos! Photo Prints, digital copies, & other printed items will be available to purchase on-line through a link distributed by the Photo Committee on the 18th. All proceeds will go to PS10 PTA. The PTA will also be hosting PS 10 Gives Back on the same day. The school is proud to be part of and provide support to the community. On the 17th, we will be offering multiple opportunities for families to volunteer together & give back, including gardening at the Butterfly Garden on the corner of 18th Street & 7th Avenue and organizing the items collected during the Harvest Day Food and Toy Drive which kicks off on November 8th. Look out for sign-ups for both of these events soon.
Teacher Time Raffle
Our popular Teacher Time Raffle is back! Buy Tickets for a chance to win fun play dates and special activities with your kid’s favorite teachers and staff. Look for descriptions, tickets and instructions in your yellow folders and return tickets with check or cash payment by Monday, November 5th. You can also purchase Teacher Time Raffle tickets at the gala this Friday.
Ms. Chocolate Fundraiser – ORDERS EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31ST
The fundraiser has been extended to this Wednesday, October 31st, take this extra time to put in a few more orders! The PTA will make approximately 45% on the gross income - so not only is this is a great way to shop for the holidays you can also support the PTA! There are great prizes for the top sellers and for classes that reach 100% participation! And did you notice, there is a super BMX bike that will be raffled off - sell 5 items and you are entered into the raffle!! Thank you to all who participated.
Harvest Day Food & Used Toy Drive Kicks off on November 8th
The P.S. 10 PTA is organizing a food and used toy drive to benefit local charities this holiday season. The drive will kick off on Thursday, November 8th and run through Saturday, November 17th. Look out for more details coming soon.
PS 10 is collecting Box Tops!
Looking for an easy way to raise money for PS 10? PS 10 is collecting Box Tops throughout the school year and all the proceeds go to the PTA’s general fund to support enrichment activities for the students. Box Tops coupons can be found on many groceries including Lara Bar, Annie’s, Ziploc, Papermate, various cereals, and many more. Please clip any Box Tops dated after 11/1/18 and put them in the collection box located outside the PTA office. If your child wants to make a fun project out of collecting, go to this link to print out a collection sheet or grab one outside the PTA office.
Amazon Gives Back more THIS WEEK
Through November 2, AmazonSmile is donating 5% (ten times the usual amount) to PS10 PTA when you should at smile.amazon.com/ch/26-1240654. So, remember click through to Amazon from our Konstella link so we can also receive additional funds through that program. See below for more on that.
Shopping for 10 - Amazon and Others
The Konstella Amazon program helps PS10 earn money shopping on Amazon. Konstella will donate 2% back to PS10. In order for the purchases to be eligible, parents must go to https://www.konstella.com/amazon (or click on any Amazon link on Konstella) to shop. We will also receive the donation if you have PS10 listed on your smile account, just click on the Konstella link every time to purchase. Lost & Found!
The lost and found is starting to get large. Please remember to come and check for your child’s lost items in the back of the auditorium. We will eventually sort and give away clothes that are not picked up. Additionally, a reminder if you’re tired of losing your child's lunchbox, gloves, coats, water bottles, sweatshirts, hats, backpacks, school supplies, etc you can purchase some labels through the Mabels Labels Fundraiser for PS10. Avoid rifling through the lost and found this year and support PS10 at the same time by fundraising with Mabel's Labels! To purchase your labels, visit this link.
