Weds., December 18, RafflePalooza Drawing - TICKETS ON SALE THIS WEEK

Raffle tickets will continue be on-sale through Wednesday. You can purchase online or in person at select drop-offs and pickups.  If you are not able to purchase in person, please use this link within the Konstella community or this link for public access.  Also please fill out the google form in the receipt to let us know which baskets you would like your tickets to go towards.

 

Dancing Through the Decades, 4th and 5th Grade Holiday Show

Performances scheduled for the following times:

Tuesday,  December 17th at 9:30

Wednesday, December 18th at 10 AM & 6PM

Tickets are $ 5.00. Children 3 and under get in free!

Location: K280 Auditorium, 500 19th Street

Tickets  are on sale this week in the Lobby during drop off or are available on-site at K280 40 minutes before each show.

Fri., January 24, International Potluck Dinner, 6:15pm to 8:15pmn - SAVE THE DATE

This PS10 Community event is FREE to all families! Bring a dish that is meaningful to you - something that celebrates your culture, country, heritage or family. We'll supply the forks, napkins, plates and cutlery. Come enjoy LIVE music, salsa dancing, crafts, performances and of course - delicious food!

 

Every family that brings a dish will be entered into our raffle for a special prize! This year, we encourage families to dress in clothing that celebrates your heritage. Any child or adult who comes dressed in clothing that celebrates their culture or country will receive two extra raffle tickets!

 

You do not need to contribute a dish to attend. FREE to everyone. SEE YOU THERE!

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Questions or problems with School Photos?

If your child had their photo taken in October and  you ordered school photos by the November 20th deadline, you should have received your photo order.  They were delivered to classrooms on the morning of Tuesday, December 3rd. If you placed your order after the deadline, they are scheduled to be delivered to the school on Wednesday, December 18th.

 

For retake/makeup photos and cap and gown photos that were taken on November 19th, if you placed your order by the December 9th order deadline, they are scheduled to be delivered to the school on Wednesday, December 18th and will be distributed to classrooms.

 

If you still have not received your photo orders or have any other photo-related questions, please email schoolphotos@pta.ps10.org and provide your child’s name, class and order number and date if possible.

 

Foley Firs Fundraiser - November 30th - December 23rd

If you are planning to purchase a Christmas tree this holiday season, Foley Firs is

donating $10 for every tree sold to our PTA! Just mention PS10 when you

purchase your tree and sign the school’s fundraiser list and the PTA will receive

the donation. Their tree stand is located on the corner of 8th Street and 8th Avenue in Park

Slope. They offer free delivery and will gladly set the tree up for you. You can buy in person or online at FoleyFirs.com

Pass this message along to family and friends (even if they do not have children in the school) and they too can purchase a tree towards our school. 

Foley Firs will contribute a personal donation if there are more than 75 participants that mention our school. This donation is 50% of our total amount raised and it will double to the full amount of funds raised if we reach over 150 participants.

They partner with a collective of three small farms in the Southeastern region of Quebec, so they trees are cut only 1 week before Thanksgiving. Firs from Canada get their blue-silver tone from the cold winters that also preserve their freshness after they get them, unlike trees from North Carolina.

 

NEW School Photos Ordering Opportunity - DEADLINE Friday, January 24, 2020

If you did not already order school or cap and gown photos and would like to do so, Stomping Ground has added another opportunity to place orders and have them delivered to PS10. The deadline to order is Friday, January, 24th.

Join PS10's Crayola ColorCycle Collection and Recycle Old Markers!

This school year, PS10 will be joining Crayola's ColorCycle program. All around PS10, students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded and recycling them instead. Please help support our efforts by putting any used markers you may have around the house - even non-Crayola brands, highlighters and dry erase markers - in a bag and sending them into school with your child. Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Amy in K209 will be spearheading the collection with all PS10 teachers. All donated markers will be shipped to Crayola as part of their amazing program devised to repurpose used markers rather than sending them to landfills! Thank you for your participation and support!

 

Lunch and Recess Volunteers - Reminder we need Volunteers

Our volunteer program offers valuable hands-on assistance throughout lunch recess period. Our mission is to foster inclusivity, kindness, empathy, wellness, and fun in a safe and enabling environment. We work to empower our community with an organized infrastructure that allows the kids to have a great experience during lunch and recess period. A total of three classes per week will share in the work of supervising lunch and recess. We have three lunch periods every day between 11am -2 pm. We will need at least 2-3 parents for each lunch/recess period. 

Thank you for volunteering to assist all of the students during Lunch & Recess period!  We are fortunate to have an interested, committed and involved parent community.  

Please sign-up for a time slot here!  We welcome volunteers even when it’s not your classes week.

 

Bringing Bowling to PE - Donors Choose

Ms. Kramer would like to bring bowling to PE.  Here it in her words. On the first and second week of Physical Education, she asked our students what they want to learn and practice in class this year. The curriculum is based around what the students share during this discussion. This year, the students asked to learn to bowl. However, they do not have bowling equipment to make that happen.  If you’d like to donate, she has setup a fundraiser at this link.

 

Mabels Labels

Tired of losing your child's lunchbox, gloves, coats, water bottles, sweatshirts, hats, backpacks, school supplies etc. etc. Avoid rifling through the lost and found this year and support PS10 at the same time by fundraising with Mabel's Labels! PS10 is collecting Box Tops!

Looking for an easy way to raise money for PS 10? PS 10 is participating in the Box Tops program throughout the school year and all the proceeds go to the PTA’s general fund to support enrichment activities for the students. Box Tops labels can be found on many products including LARABAR, Annie’s, Ziploc, Papermate, various cereals, and many more. There are two ways to submit Box Tops to PS10:

1) Clip any Box Tops dated after 11/1/19 and put them in the collection box located on the black shelf outside the PTA office.Please do not submit expired Box Tops. 

2) Download the Box Tops App! Click here to download the Box Tops App for easy submission without the clipping. Once you’ve downloaded the app and selected Public School 10 Brooklyn as your school, just scan your receipt right away whenever you buy products with the Box Tops label and our school will receive the proceeds. Please note that we do not get credit for clipped copies of the new scannable Box Tops. You must scan the receipt.
