PS10 International Potluck Dinner - FRIDAY, JANUARY 25th, 6:00 - 8:00pm
Please join us for a FREE, fun community event where PS10 families can celebrate their backgrounds and countries with delicious food, music, and crafts!
Families are welcome to bring a dish from their country or culture. We will share food, listen to great LIVE music, and enjoy a fun night together. You don't need to bring anything to attend. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Thursday, January 31 Parents Chess night, 6:30pm
Parents’ Chess Night is back by popular demand! This night is for parents who know how to play or want to learn how to play! We found that everyone together (beginners and advance makes for an amazingly fun night of chess!). You will play with other parents and have some delicious food from Dynamite Shop and of course wine. We need donations to fund this community building event! We are asking for $20 donations for the evening. Sign-up will be available soon!

Lunch & Recess Volunteers – NEW VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE STARTS THIS WEEK
We are rolling out a new school wide parent volunteer program which will run from January 7 to March 30, 2019. We need to add helping hands to support PS10 staff during each lunch and recess period in the winter months. In the past several months, The Recess Committee and PTA have gathered feedback from teachers, staff, the administration, and students to understand how to improve the children’s experiences during lunch and recess. In our discussions with the staff it has become clear that the one thing that will help immensely with achieving that goal is to have more adults involved in supervising and organizing the lunch and recess periods. By volunteering to supervise lunch and recess during winter you will help to:
- Provide safer and more sanitary environment during lunch period
- Ensure a more orderly and better organized recess time for all our students
- Contribute in the work towards offering students choices for indoor recess Increasing the time students spend outdoors
- Improve the school experience of all PS10 students by strengthening the ties between families and the school
To secure parent volunteers for each lunch and recess period we have set up a school wide schedule for volunteering. Each P.S. 10 class will be assigned a specific week for which they should try to provide volunteers. A total of three classes per week will share in the work of supervising lunch and recess. We have three lunch periods every day between 11am -2 pm. We will need at least 2-3 parents for each lunch/recess period. Please check with your class parent for more information or reach out to the class parent co-chairs on Konstella.

New Website Launched
PS10 has launched a new and updated website. The website will house the same information as before, and more. We will also update it with upcoming events, the Konstella Newsflash, and information on outside programming. Check it out at https://www.ps10.org/.

5th Grade Cap & Gown Photos Available Online
Proofs for the Fifth Grade’s Cap and Gown photos are now available to view online. You needed to have placed your order by 1/9 to have photos shipped for free to PS 10. Estimated print delivery: 1/23/19.

Gladiators Chess Club & Team Spring Registration Open
The Gladiators chess club and team afterschool program is ready for Spring Registration. If you are already registered in Fall, there will be no break before the next session. Classes are Wednesday after school until 5, with a late pick up until 6 option. The afterschool program is open to all - beginners and experts! Register here! If your child is new to the program, please note the Spring session starts in February, however, you can get an early start in January. Please reach out to PS10Chess@gmail.com.

PS 10 is collecting Box Tops!
Looking for an easy way to raise money for PS 10? PS 10 is collecting Box Tops throughout the school year and all the proceeds go to the PTA’s general fund to support enrichment activities for the students. Box Tops coupons can be found on many groceries including Lara Bar, Annie’s, Ziploc, Papermate, various cereals, and many more. Please clip any Box Tops dated after 11/1/18 and put them in the collection box located outside the PTA office. If your child wants to make a fun project out of collecting, go to this link to print out a collection sheet or grab one outside the PTA office.
Lost & Found!
Please remember to come and check for your child’s lost items in the back of the auditorium. We will eventually sort and give away clothes that are not picked up. Additionally, a reminder if you’re tired of losing your child's lunchbox, gloves, coats, water bottles, sweatshirts, hats, backpacks, school supplies, etc you can purchase some labels through the Mabel’s Labels Fundraiser for PS10. Avoid rifling through the lost and found this year and support PS10 at the same time by fundraising with Mabel's Labels! To purchase your labels, visit this link.
