REMINDER: Title I Workshops: Different Isn’t Bad: Talking to To Your Kids About Difference, May 23, 6:30pm in the library

Kids come in all varieties--they all have unique brains and bodies. In this workshop we'll explore positive ways to talk about difference with your kids, whether their own or those of other students. We'll examine what it means to have learning differences, how schools serve all kinds of kids, and how integrated classrooms benefit every kind of learner!

 

Join Giuliana Retizfeld, 5th grade ICT teacher and Jody Drezner Alperin, Teaching Artist from Off The Page for this workshop!  Pizza and childcare will be available during the meeting.

PUBLIC HEARING ON BROOKLYN PROSPECT CHARTER SCHOOL – TUESDAY, MAY 22nd

There will be a hearing about Brooklyn Prospect Charter School application to open a K-5 elementary school in District 15 in the Fall of 2020. This application is only about the Charter application to open a new school and is not a request for space.

 

Speaker sign in begins at 5:30 pm at 355 Bridge Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The Hearing begins at 6 pm. CEC15 Member Antonia Ferraro will be in attendance.

ONGOING ANNOUNCEMENTS

LOST & FOUND –

The lost and found area has been completely cleared. Going forward items left over on the bi-weekly collection dates will be donated or discarded.  We will make every effort to return articles of clothing to students and adults, but we are unable to hold items out of concern for cleanliness and sanitation. Please help us to keep our school clean and label all your children’s clothing. 

 

PARENT RESOURCE AREA

The PTA has a parent resource station consisting of a computer and printer for parent use outside of the PTA office in the cafeteria. This area is also where you can find hardcopy forms, signup sheets, and community information from the PTA.  Also, please clear the area as items will be discarded this weekend.

 

PS 10 GRAND READERS PROGRAM

Join us in the PS 10 Library on Thursday mornings to read with our students! All you need to do is show up! We welcome the gift of your time and attention. This event will be every Thursday from 8:30-10:30 am. Don’t forget to bring your ID to enter the building.
