The 2019-2020 PS10 PTA Executive Board will be elected at the May 23nd PTA General Meeting.  Please click this link to find information on how you can become part of next year’s Executive Board.  We will be sending information home in the yellow folder, via Konstella and there will be an information session on May 7th at 8:30am in the cafeteria.


Thursday, May 9th | After-School Theater Production of Jungle Book, 6pm

PS10’s After-School Theater program will be putting on a production of Jungle Book this Thursday, May 9th at 6pm.  Come out to support your classmates and friends.


Friday, May 10th | Grandparents & Special Friends Day – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We invite our grandparents and special friends to visit their child’s classroom and the school.  All attendees will be able to visit their child’s classroom, complete a special project together, enjoy a hot breakfast with a coffee reception and participate in an art auction 

We are also offering a still photography session during the day, slots are still available (new times added).  Following the event, pictures will be available online for purchase with proceeds going to the PS10 PTA. 

The Art Auction will be held during the hot breakfast and coffee reception. We look forward to having grandparents bid on their grandchildren’s art work!  Please let your class parent know who will be attending for your child!


We can also use a few more volunteers!  The biggest challenge is often getting folks up the elevator, so a couple of extra hands would be great.  Sign up available here


Friday, May 10th | Mother’s Day Flower Sale

An envelope to pay for the Flower Sale was sent home this week, please send money in advance of May 10th if possible.  All children will be able to take 1 flower home regardless of whether they paid or not, so feel free to add some additional funds to cover another child.


Saturday May 11th, PTA Fun Run kicks off at 10am

Number pickup and pre-race activities will begin at 9:00 AM in the Bartel-Pritchard Parking Lot.  The PTA 5K Fun Run has brought together hundreds of parents, teachers, and students from scores of Brooklyn schools and beyond to run/walk/stroll/toddle 5-kilometers through Prospect Park for over a decade. 


If PS10 recruits has at least 20 participants from our school community (and supporters) to register and fund-raise for the race we will receive the maximum benefit from the PTA Fun Run.  So sign up today at this link .  Then run on over to the PS10 STEAM Fair.


Saturday, MAY 11th, STEAM FAIR, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm....RAIN OR SHINE 

PS10 is very excited to be hosting the annual STEAM Fair, a day full of activities, fun and food for the entire family. Organized by the PS 10 PTA, the STEAM Fair mixes elements of a maker's fair with the joy of a community event.

"STEAM Power: Powering Our Planet, Ourselves, Our Community"
 is the theme for this year's PS10 STEAM Fair. We're thinking of all of the innovative and exciting ways that the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and math contribute to emPOWERing young minds to create new forms of energy, build sustainability and use their super-powered brains to learn and grow! 


Tickets are $10/each or $35/family four-pack. The proceeds from this PTA-sponsored fundraiser go directly to funding important school activities like arts, enrichment and learning support. Advance tickets are available through Konstella by clicking here.

Wednesday, May 15th | Family Engagement Night, Lower Grade Science Fair PTA Fair. 

Family Engagement night is done during the last Parent Teacher Conference and parents will have the opportunity to hear from next year’s teachers on the curriculum for their child’s upcoming grade.  


Lower Grade Science Fair - 2nd and 3rd Grade Science Fair will also be held this evening in the gym.


The PTA Fair will be an opportunity to hear from the PTA on the upcoming Executive Board Elections and Committees that will need help next year!


Thursday, May 16th | Parents Chess Night

Come spend an evening with the chess coach from PS10 Gladiators and PS10 Parents, sipping wine and learning chess!  Beginners through advanced are welcome!  We promise everyone will learn something and you will have a blast! And feel free to buy an extra ticket to sponsor a teacher or a friend!

While we have fulfilled the original call for lunch volunteers through the winter, we have found there is a lot of value in continuing to ask for parent help during those crucial hours of the day.  We will be posting a weekly sign-up to volunteer but parents should always feel free to come to school during the hours of 11am to 2pm to help for any amount they can. 


Goals for the Volunteers

  • Provide safer and more sanitary environment during lunch period
  • Ensure a more orderly and better organized recess time for all our students
  • Contribute in the work towards offering students choices for indoor recess Increasing the time students spend outdoors
  • Improve the school experience of all PS10 students by strengthening the ties between families and the school

Lost & Found!

Please remember to come and check for your child’s lost items in the back of the auditorium. We will eventually sort and give away clothes that are not picked up. Additionally, a reminder if you’re tired of losing your child's lunchbox, gloves, coats, water bottles, sweatshirts, hats, backpacks, school supplies, etc. you can purchase some labels through the Mabel’s Labels Fundraiser for PS10. Avoid rifling through the lost and found this year and support PS10 at the same time by fundraising with Mabel's Labels! PS 10 is collecting Box Tops!

Looking for an easy way to raise money for PS 10? PS 10 is collecting Box Tops throughout the school year and all the proceeds go to the PTA’s general fund to support enrichment activities for the students. Box Tops coupons can be found on many groceries including Lara Bar, Annie’s, Ziploc, Papermate, various cereals, and many more. Please clip any Box Tops dated after 03/02/19 and put them in the collection box located outside the PTA office. If your child wants to make a fun project out of collecting, go to this link to print out a collection sheet or grab one outside the PTA office.
