Calling all Bakers and Volunteers. The PS10 PTA and the Bake Sale Committee will be putting on an Election Day Bake sale to raise money for the PTA and feed all the hungry voters and poll workers. If you’re available that day to volunteer for an hour or two we would really appreciate your help! Kids are more than welcome to come and help out! Please sign up to volunteer at this link. Attention parents of kindergarteners and second graders! Come out to Skylark Bar (477 Fifth Ave) to meet and socialize with other parents in a casual atmosphere. Drink tickets will be available for purchase at the door, and proceeds benefit the PS10 PTA. There will be two more happy hours this fall: Wednesday Nov. 20 for parents of children in grades 1 and 3, and Wednesday Dec. 11 for parents of children in grades 4 and 5. Hope to see you there!

Thurs, November 15 |Teacher Appreciation Feast - VOLUNTEER FOR A SHIFT!
Our FALL TEACHER APPRECIATION FEAST is on Parent Teacher Conference Day and we need your helping hands! More information regarding the feast and specific class assignments will come home via yellow folders and Konstella. Class parents will be organizing direct donations in the form of homemade and ordered meals from each classroom. Each classroom will be assigned a specific part of the meal. Conferences are such a long and hard day for the school, and the meals and treats offered go a long way and really show how much we value our amazing team of teachers, administrators, and staff! Please help say thank you by volunteering at this link for even just a small part of your day!
Tues, November 19, Make-up and Retake and 5th Grade Cap and Gown Photo Day
Tuesday, November 19th will be the last day to have make-up and retake photos taken at the school. Fifth graders will also have their cap and gown photos taken on that day.
The proofs for all students who had their photos taken in October have been sent home in the yellow folder and are also available to view online. Click here to view your proofs and enter your online code (PS10 + First four letters of the first name + First four letters of the last name). If your child was absent on the previous photo days or would like to schedule a retake, complete this form.
Please note: Friday, November 15th is the last day to sign up for retake and makeup photos.
Thurs, November 21, PS10 Family Science Night - 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m. - SAVE THE DATE
The first ever PS10 Family Science Night is coming soon. Join our science-enrichment partners Kiddie Science and League of Young Inventors, as well as our friends at Brooklyn Solar Works and Brooklyn Microgrid and others for an exciting evening of HANDS-ON science learning activities for the whole family. Our theme is The SCIENCE OF ENERGY. Together we will discover the ways plants, animals, humans and other living things make and store energy to power everything from our bodies to toys, houses and cities! This event is FREE and kids of all ages are welcome. So please plan to join us for fun, food, take-home science projects and a chance to win tickets to spend a day at one of our city's great science centers.

PS10 will once again be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items to donate to a local food pantry. Please bring all donations to the collection area in the school lobby by the 17th Street entrance. Please note that items will not be accepted after 3:00 PM on November 22nd.
Monday, December 2 - Friday, December 6 - PS10 Gives Back - Used Toy and Sneaker Drive - Time to Clean Out Those Closets!
PS10 will be running two special drives this year. Our school has partnered with Second Chance Toys, a non-profit that matches donors and area charities to ensure happy holidays for children who would otherwise not receive any toys. The week of the drive, donate your unwanted plastic toys and drop them off in the collection area in the lobby of PS 10. Before donating, please make sure the toys (plastic only) are clean, still work and are no smaller than the center of a toilet paper roll. They will also accept wooden puzzles in very good condition with all of the pieces.
We are also partnered with GotSneakers, a non-profit that collects new and used athletic and sports shoes and distributes them to those in need and recycles unwearable pairs. Our school will receive a small stipend for each pair of new and gently used athletic shoes and sports cleats donated.
Please bring all donations to the collection area in the school lobby by the 17th Street entrance. Please note that we cannot accept items after 9:00 AM on Friday, December 6th.

Square 1 Art Coming Home Soon
Coming home soon will be your child’s custom catalog featuring their artwork,look for it next week sometime. The PS10 PTAl earns profit from every order and that money will go back into their arts education. Square 1 Art will provide each child with a sheet of stickers imprinted with their artwork — absolutely FREE! Watch for more details about the campaign and order deadlines. All online and paper order forms must be turned in by the due date on your child’s custom catalog. (No late orders can be accepted.)

Our annual school fundraiser has begun! Students will be selling food and gifts from Ms. Chocolate from Monday, October 14th through Wednesday, November 13th. You should already have received your order packet in your yellow folder. If you didn't, extra copies are available in the black cubby organizer outside the PTA office.
Here are some important things to remember about the sale:
- All order forms and full payments need to be submitted to the PTA office by Wednesday, November 13th.
- Orders can be paid for with cash or personal check.
- All personal checks should be made out to: PS10 PTA

Lunch and Recess Volunteers - Reminder we need Volunteers
Our volunteer program offers valuable hands-on assistance throughout lunch recess period. Our mission is to foster inclusivity, kindness, empathy, wellness, and fun in a safe and enabling environment. We work to empower our community with an organized infrastructure that allows the kids to have a great experience during lunch and recess period. A total of three classes per week will share in the work of supervising lunch and recess. We have three lunch periods every day between 11am -2 pm. We will need at least 2-3 parents for each lunch/recess period.
Thank you for volunteering to assist all of the students during Lunch & Recess period! We are fortunate to have an interested, committed and involved parent community.

Bringing Bowling to PE - Donors Choose
Ms. Kramer would like to bring bowling to PE. Here it in her words. On the first and second week of Physical Education, she asked our students what they want to learn and practice in class this year. The curriculum is based around what the students share during this discussion. This year, the students asked to learn to bowl. However, they do not have bowling equipment to make that happen. We are very excited to offer families a way to pre-pay for entry to our family friendly events in advance! The Family Fun Pass will be $65* for a family of 2 and $130* for a family of 4! It will cover admission to Tenstock, Three Movie Nights, PS10’s Got Talent, STEAM Fair and the Authors’ Visit event. You will save approximately 20%! PS10 is collecting Box Tops!
Looking for an easy way to raise money for PS 10? PS 10 is participating in the Box Tops program throughout the school year and all the proceeds go to the PTA’s general fund to support enrichment activities for the students. Box Tops labels can be found on many products including LARABAR, Annie’s, Ziploc, Papermate, various cereals, and many more. There are two ways to submit Box Tops to PS10:
1) Clip any Box Tops dated after 09/30/19 and put them in the collection box located outside the PTA office.
2) Download the Box Tops App! Click here to download the Box Tops App for easy submission without the clipping. Once you’ve downloaded the app and selected Public School 10 Brooklyn as your school, just scan your receipt right away whenever you buy products with the Box Tops label and our school will receive the proceeds.Please note that we do not get credit for clipped copies of the new scannable Box Tops. You must scan the receipt.
