FALL FROLIC TONIGHT, OCTOBER 27TH 6-9PM PS10

Cafeteria & Auditorium Show off your costume and frolic with your friends and neighbors. DJ, Dancing, Crafts, Games & Fun. Tickets $5 at the door, $4 if purchased online at store.ps10.org.  All proceeds benefit the 5th grade trip. 

 

PS 10 SPEAKEASY & ROARING 20’S AUCTION GALA Friday, November 3rd(7PM – 11PM at Prospect Park Picnic House)

Tickets are on-sale for the PS10 Speakeasy/Roaring 20's themed auction and gala. Remember this is PS10’s largest fundraiser of the year, so come out and support your school. There will be food, drinks, music, dancing and fabulous items to bid on! Tickets to the Yankees, Nets, Rangers, Islanders and more! Getaways from Long Island to Costa Rica! More camps and classes than ever before!

All proceeds will benefit the PTA. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased at http://store.ps10.org. No period garb to wear? No problem, just come as you are!!!

 

Raffle Basket Tickets will be sold in-school Tuesday through Thursday of next week, so come inside to get your tickets! Brooklyn Game Lab will also be offering a special Late Night Lab on auction night for 4th and 5th graders!!

Forget about a sitter for those older kids! For only $25 they can enjoy a night of fun and games with the fabulous Game Lab crew! Bring snacks, drinks, & cuddly friends. They can even wear Pjs, the night will run from 6:30P-11:30Pat 479 7th Avenue Windsor Place - the perfect time and location to attend the auction! AUCTION & RAFFLE BASKET VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are still need to help out the night of the Auction and to engineer these Raffle Basket so please sign up on Konstella to either help make the Raffle Baskets, sell tickets or be part of the Auction. We will be packing baskets on Sunday and Monday!

 

CATALOG FUNDRAISERS – Fundraising ends on October 30th

Last chance to get in all catalog fundraising activities, everything is due on Monday October 30th.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS PTA GENERAL MEETING – November, 16th – After drop off in the cafeteria.

Please come and join us for the November PTA meeting. This will be a great opportunity to hear from the PTA and the administration. We will have some exciting guest speakers this month.

Nurse Josephine Allen from the School-Based Lutheran Family Health Center/School Health Program will be on hand to talk about all the fantastic resources her team can provide, from flu shots and strep tests to the more mundane sick calls.

We will also hear from Principal Laura Scott on plans for the upcoming 4th and 5th grade holiday show.

FAMILY PORTRAIT DAY AT PS.10 – November 18th

On Saturday November 18th PS.10’s Photo Committee is offering families the opportunity to come in for a photography portrait session in the auditorium. There will be a separate online sign-up sheet on Konstella to gauge interest for this opportunity and to secure a spot. Following the event, pictures will be available on-line for purchase with all proceeds going to the PS10 PTA. More information to come soon!

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPDATES

 

AUTHOR COMMITTEE

The Author Committee was very pleased to bring fellow PS10 parent and author Joshua David Stein to the library this Friday morning to share his books with enthusiastic 1st graders. We will also be having a Committee meeting on Thursday, November 2nd after drop off in the Library.

 

THE DIVERSITY PROJECT This is a year–long cultural exhibit highlighting ancestors within our PS10 families who helped define your family’s path. Maybe you have an ancestor who was the first to vote in US elections, graduate from college, or start a family business? Email a brief story of 200 words or less telling us their name, date of birth/death, and their story of trial, triumph and/or tribulation along with (1) hi-resolution, scanned photo of your ancestor and (1) hi resolution, scanned photo of your student to ps10diversityproject@gmail.com. No smartphone photos please. Please submit a letter granting permission for use along with your photograph. Entries will be reviewed for inclusion in a year–long exhibit showcasing family stories, and as coffee table book to be sold as a fundraiser. Third round of submissions are due November 15, 2017. Photo scanning support available. Please participate! What a powerful affirmation of inclusion this will be for our children!

 

PARENT ACTION COMMITTEE Members of the Parent Action Committee and the Diversity Committee are meeting on Wednesday, Nov 1st after drop-off in the cafeteria to discuss the District 15 Middle School process and related topics. Please join us in this important discussion.

 

WELLNESS COMMITTEE is hoping to offer 60 teachers 10-minute massages on November 15th! We are asking all parents to donate $1-2 per child to help make this happen… simply place $1-2 in an envelope, label it “Teacher Wellness” and place in your child’s yellow folder. Please ask teachers to submit “Teacher Wellness” donations to the PTA office.
