RE: DOE Lead Paint Removal

PS10

Dear PS 10 Families,

Lead paint in public schools across the city has been in the news recently.  Lead paint is of particular concern with children under the age of 6 years old.

We are writing to let you know that our classrooms have been inspected for lead paint by the Division of School Facilities (DSF).

Our school was identified to have lead in three rooms.  Any areas in the classrooms where traces of lead paint were identified, the paint was removed and the areas were immediately and thoroughly sealed.

Our custodial staff will continue to work closely with DSF to ensure our classrooms are ready for students on the first day of school.

Attached please find a letter with more information from DSF.   If unable to download the PDF, you may visit this web link for the letter as well: https://www.schools.nyc.gov/docs/default-source/default-document-library/letter-to-families-on-lead-inspection

Administration can be contacted for specific information when they return on August 27th.

Sincerely,

PS 10 Admin
