Good evening everyone,
Due to expected severe weather conditions, all New York City public schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 4, 2019. School trips, after-school programs, adult education, YABC programs, and PSAL activities are cancelled tomorrow as well. Yellow bus service for charter and non-public school students will not operate tomorrow.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for tomorrow and NYC Emergency Management has also issued a Hazardous Travel Advisory for tomorrow, Monday, March 4, 2019.
Snow is anticipated to begin tonight and continue until as late as 8:00 AM tomorrow morning. We are working in close communication with DOT and NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) throughout the next 24 hours.
DOE central and field offices will remain open. We urge staff to exercise caution when going outside and to use public transportation whenever possible.
Additional information will be posted on the DOE website http://schools.nyc.gov
Safety is of the utmost importance. New Yorkers are encouraged to use public transportation during storm conditions and use caution when walking, biking and driving and allow for additional travel time.
We are continuing to monitor the storm’s progress, and will email everyone immediately if anything changes.
Please stay warm and safe tonight and tomorrow.
